Antes de comenzar con los artículos de Autosport Plus de julio, vamos a actualizar los Autosport, que el último que puse es el de abril.

Comenzamos con el Autosport que se publicó en mayo.

Autosport magazine: Ferrari's challenge and the pros and cons of F1 2026.
F1's new era has begun and it has split opinion, but Ferrari fans have some reasons to be cheerful...

Ferrari's promise, Aston Martin's woes and the arguments about Formula 1's new regulations all feature in this month's Autosport magazine, out today (9 April).

Three rounds into F1's latest era and some things are becoming clear. Mercedes has an edge, Kimi Antonelli is learning fast, and Ferrari and McLaren aren't that far off the pace. And these regulations are perhaps the most polarising in championship history.

There's been a lot of noise, some of it perfectly legitimate, some bordering on misinformation. So, what do we know?

The 2026 F1 cars are more nimble and can follow closer than their predecessors, and there is more wheel-to-wheel racing. All three grands prix so far have featured some great passing – not all has simply been due to differences in deployment of electrical power – and the 2026 Japanese GP was much more entertaining than last year's soporific affair. But, clearly, that's not the end of the story.

When Charles Leclerc, arguably the most exciting qualifier of his generation, says that his reward for pushing harder in Q3 is for his Ferrari to go slower on the straights because of the way the computers manage electrical energy, something has gone awry. There's still a skill in qualifying, but 'energy management' isn't something that should be coming into the one moment over a GP weekend when the cars are supposed to be flat-out, no-holds-barred.

Lando Norris saying he didn't even want to pass Lewis Hamilton into the chicane but was forced to because the car decided it should be deploying electrical energy also rings alarm bells. Not only does it remove a crucial skill for the driver, but it could create unnecessary danger.

Ollie Bearman's Suzuka crash, caused by the Briton being caught out by the closing speed on Franco Colapinto's Alpine, brought safety back to the top of the agenda.

In this month's issue, as well as taking a look at Ferrari's challenge to take on Mercedes, we investigate the pros and cons of the new rules, delve into what people are saying about them, and ponder what could be done.

Outside of F1, we have appreciations of important sportscar figure Bob Tullius and rally legend Sandro Munari, both of whom died recently, while Marcus Simmons talks to key players about the new Plato Racing team that is set to shake up the British Touring Car Championship.

We look at the Red Bull star's current dilemma and how F1 has changed in this month's issue.

Max Verstappen has been one of the most vocal critics of the 2026 Formula 1 regulations. How much of that is due to the relative lack of competitiveness of his Red Bull and how much is down to a genuine concern about the future of the sport is open to debate, but it's got people's attention.

In the June issue of Autosport magazine, out today (7 May), Ronald Vording explains how Verstappen is fighting on several fronts at the moment and looks at what he could do next, as well as underlining that his GT outings are helping to maintain Max's enthusiasm for the sport.

Should Verstappen walk away from F1? If he really wants to, fair enough – who are we to say – but it's surely not what the Dutchman desires. Verstappen knows he can take on other motorsport challenges later in his career and, at 28, he should be in his prime.

As Jake Boxall-Legge shows in his article on the driver challenge in F1, the greats always work out what they have to do to get an edge, whatever the rules. The details change but the attributes of the best stay the same, and Verstappen is undoubtedly one of those: he'll be able to prove it if he hangs around.

Our writers take on the question of what F1 should look like in the Autosport Great Debate. We also analyse the current midfield battle, while Stuart Codling marks 60 years of McLaren in F1 by looking back at how founder Bruce McLaren moved from promising Kiwi youngster to boss of a team that could take on Ferrari and Lotus.

Ten years before that, Vanwall made a breakthrough for the struggling (but improving) British F1 contingent. We recall Stirling Moss's victory in the 1956 BRDC International Trophy.

Trying to make his way into F1 is Colton Herta. The IndyCar star talks to Ben Vinel in the issue about the challenge of F2 and his hopes of proving to Cadillac that he's ready for grand prix racing.

Outside of single-seaters, we review the World Endurance Championship opener at Imola, celebrate 20 years of GT3 and pick out the recent highlights of the UK motorsport season, including the first round of the British Touring Car Championship at Donington Park and the Goodwood Members' Meeting.

Things have been difficult to predict in the 2026 motorsport season. Mercedes being on top at the start of the new Formula 1 era hasn't been a surprise, but Kimi Antonelli's consistently strong challenge to team-mate George Russell was not expected by anyone other than the biggest fans of the Italian teenager.

It's tempting to say that the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix should provide a good opportunity for local star Charles Leclerc to take a win in the high-downforce, punchy Ferrari SF-26. But with the two Mercedes going at it for the title, McLaren not far away, Lewis Hamilton beginning to enjoy his time at Maranello and Red Bull making strides towards the front, it's tough to be too confident.

The same can be said for the Le Mans 24 Hours, which we preview in this issue. Gary Watkins is your guide to the world's greatest endurance race, including highlighting the factors why it's harder than ever to pick a winner. Can Ferrari make it four in a row?

Another 24-hour race has already attracted more attention than usual. Max Verstappen's efforts in GT3 reached a new high at the Nurburgring in May. The four-time F1 world champion not only starred against the cream of the category's drivers on the finest race circuit in the world, but he brought an unprecedented number of fans to the event. Ed Hardy went along to follow the race and the Verstappen story.

The Dutchman has made it clear that his F1 future depends on the direction the rules take. While discussions about how the internal combustion/electrical power split should be in 2027, Stuart Codling looks further ahead to see what the next ruleset could be. Will V8s be on the menu?

Alpine also features strongly in this issue, with Jake Boxall-Legge plotting the F1 team's recent improvement and the Le Mans-winning A442 getting our 'Now that was a car' treatment.
